Hello,

I would like to create plant variants that can grow in extreme temperatures only, but I was unable to find where is the growing temperature range set. Can it be done in XML only?

Thanks, Valor.

You can look at Powerless mod from Cupropanda, IIRC turnips and/or cabbages are described as "capable of survive cold temperature" and indeed they do in game. But I've never look at how it is done.

Me I've done quite some modded plants and all I can tell is I've never seen such things in the XML defs, so either it's in the C# part or it's not obviously understandable from the XML (at least for me, I'm not a native English speaker so I may have missed it).

Anyhow I'm also interested in seeing a precise answer to this :-D

Plants cannot be modded to grow at unusual temperatures in XML; currently those values are hardcoded.

There's a flag, <dieIfLeafless>, in the plant def that controls whether the plant dies when the temperature drops to around freezing. This is the only temperature control that plants have by default.

Thanks for clarifying that. Much appreciated.

So now I'm sure I was at my maximum modding capabilities on TropiCKAPP mod ;-)
