Not sure if similar to, or related to: https://ludeon.com/forums/index.php?topic=43920.0
but "count equipped" doesn't seem to count apparel worn by Pawns in caravans, so at least flak vests are overproduced in abundance when pawns leave the colony temporarily. I tried to look for similar posts but couldn't find any words on this so hope I'm not doubleposting or posting uneccessarily in any way.

EDIT: Just saw the post on reporting bugs https://ludeon.com/forums/index.php?topic=513.0, sorry I missed it earlier.

1) Circumstances: produced 6 dusters, set my tailorbench to produce 6 and checked count equipped. So far so good
2) Sent 3 pawns wearing dusters away in a caravan, tailorbench now counts 3/6 and produces 3 more. I have 6/6 in the tailorbench (plus 3 traveling) for a total of 9
3) I expected the tailorbench to continue to be aware of the 6/6 dusters (counting equipped) so that I wouldn't have an unnecessary surplus of dusters upon the caravans return.
4) Steps to reproduce as in 1) and 2)
5) Not sure you need this for this behaviour? It doesn't seem to be a crash and occurs consistently
6) Not sure you need this for this behaviour? It doesn't seem to be a crash and occurs consistently

Thanks if you have time to respond!

I don't have RimWorld handy at the moment, so I may be incorrect, but I thought that colonist out in a caravan didn't count towards the total either (i.e. 3 colonists total, 1 leaves, it only counts as 2 colonist total until they return).

Just fyi, Better Workbench Management adds this.  I agree, however, it should be core.

Canute

So you realy want that your pawn's comes home naked/freezing when your pawn delived parka's to a settlement ?
Equiped stuff is needed, why should it count toward surplus stock you made for trading ?
And if you think you can carry more at your caravan when you equip it before, no then the pawn can carry less weight.

Thank you codexile and ForeverZer0 for your constructive feedback. Canute, I simply don't understand your garbled mess of a message. You're making a considerable number of assumptions here whose conculsions require not only leaps of logic but bounds to arrive at. If you have nothing constructive to say you may as well not say it at all. Why in the world you would think that I want my pawns to be naked is beyond me, I said nothing to indicate that whatsoever. Please let's not have a war of words here before the devs have had a chance to weigh in on whether this is intended behaviour or worthy of a bugfix. They have addressed similar issues in the past, as I mentioned in my first post, so please let's not jump to any conclusions just yet.

Will look into thanks!

Doesn't really affect the bug part, which should be fixed, but if the use case here is to have backup clothes, you can count dusters in storage instead.

Couple of questions:
1. How does this work if you have more than 1 colony?
2. Would you want this function to count apparel for all pawns in all colonies, or only where the bill is?
