Was already doing this for my weapon mod, so I might as well share it:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1c8t7LWTR0nCuy7jVw6xO_2iu_VTSY61EbYkefN3Rvn0/edit?usp=sharing

Some stuff that surprised me:
- A destroyed liver is instant death.
- Destroyed lungs bleed out extremely fast.
- Bone damage is mostly harmless, with some exceptions

Stuff I still don't know, and need more research on:
- What happens if you have a broken skull? Tested, death.
- What happens if you have a broken spine? Tested, paralysis.
- What happens if you have broken (lost) bones in general?
- What happens if you lose both lungs? I'm assuming you suffocate, but I couldn't confirm. Tested, death.
- What is the coverage of a core part (eg. human torso)? Is it 100%, or something else?
- What determines the change of an injury becoming old? I tried to force getting old burn scars, but they always healed.
- Does difficulty/do story tellers alter the chance of injuries becoming old?
- What determines pain tolerance?
- What determines what a pawn needs to live? Mechanoids don't breath for example, where is it defined that they don't need lungs where as humans do?

Would you also put that info in the wiki?  See the thread about updating it:

Thanks Milon and yes please do! It desperately needs anything and everything relating to Alpha 6 at the moment! (Or at least post the spreadsheet here so someone can copy it over!)

You might as well mark loss of a leg as fatal on that spreadsheet, because losing one will turn any pawn into a vegetable.

I believe it can be set but i'll reaffirm
- What happens if you have a broken spine?
Broken as in crushed right
- What happens if you have broken (lost) bones in general?

Depends on the limb
- What happens if you lose both lungs? I'm assuming you suffocate, but I couldn't confirm.

Need to find out
- What is the coverage of a core part (eg. human torso)? Is it 100%, or something else?

I believe it is 40
- What determines the change of an injury becoming old? I tried to force getting old burn scars, but they always healed.

Burn a lot and don't even think of treating it over time it should give scars
- Does difficulty/do story tellers alter the chance of injuries becoming old?
- What determines pain tolerance?

IDk yet
- What determines what a pawn needs to live? Mechanoids don't breath for example, where is it defined that they don't need lungs where as humans do?

This needs answering

So for my new prisoner with a missing leg should I just kill him or do you think prosthetics can be a thing?

Currently he won't be of any use, Prosthetics will only be a thing in next alpha or so
unless some mods appear =P
Maybe you can toss him on the floor as an appeasement gift for the raiders during raids
Who knows! maybe they will decide to 'pick anyone they can and run'

Would be their problem then!

They've pretty much been confirmed for Alpha 7 but that could be awhile. Also, odds are like Alpha 5 colonies and Alpha 6; saves from 6 won't be compatible with 7...so not much point in hanging on to him imo. Sell him or drag him out back and give him the 'Ol Yeller treatment.

Just a note: It's not possible to get broken skull without dying, as all skull damage also results it brain damage and skull has three times as many hitpoints as brain has.

Wounds becoming old also have extremely low chance to happen (appears to be 0.5%) for most bodyparts. Some, like bones, have 0% chance of getting old wounds, while some important organs like the brain and eyes have 100% chance (some like heart or lungs have th standard 0.5%, though).

I think you're right about that, because you can't get scarring on your bones. I was gonna suggest scarring up someone's skull to where it had less HP than the brain, but it's not exactly feasible, lol.

I'm going to do some testing by 99999'ing all the other organs/body parts other than the ones I want to test. Will report back with results.

For science!

Confirmed: Loss of both lungs is instant death.

Confirmed: A shattered skull is instant death, even if the brain survives. This is probably because the skull is a container for the brain.

Confirmed: Shattered spines cause total paralysis, presumably from the neck down. Cannot move or work.

Checking some bone stuff now:

Losing both clavicles makes colonists unable to work, I'm guessing it has the same penalty as losing your arm.

I'm going to presume that the rest of the bones do similar things. Shattered leg bones probably make you unable to walk.

Shattered pelvises make it so you can't walk

Bones are pretty severe injuries if shattered, surprising.

Anyway, I've updated the spread sheet with the new findings.
