Linking backstories

Hello all, a quick question for those more savy with the code than I. Say I want to have certain childhood backstories lead to certain adulthood backstories, how would I go about this, if it's at all possible? I've tried to look at the core backstories but I can't seem to find them in xml. I've read that they're located in the resources.assets file, but I've no clue how to get inside to look, so I'm kind of stumped. If anyone knows how or where I can get the info I would be most appreciative.

Maybe take some race or faction mod and look there for the backstories.

well, probably it's too hard for "modern" people but you can access backstories with notepad, they are not encrypted and stored plaintext after payload.
