This fix: "- Change animal products and processed food to not generate negative thoughts related to meat-eating precepts. Vegetarians and carnivores alike can now eat these without being bothered."
Caused a balance issue: It is now better to select Fine meal and manually disable "Meat", then actually use Vegetarian Fine meal.

Reason:
Fine meals can use 0.25 vegetarian, 0.25 Animal Products or meat. So a total of 0.5 nutrition used.
Vegetarian fine meals use 0.75 vegetarian (Carnivore use 0.75 meat), much more.

But a Fine meal made from Vegetarian+Animal Products would have all the benefits of a Vegetarian fine meal, none of the drawbacks.

Except for the fact that it needs multiple sources of food (plants and animal products) as opposed to single plants source for vegetarian fine meals.
The same applies to a Simple meal vs Fine meal. They both require 0.5 ingredients to make, but fine meal requires multiple sources.

The drawback are, you only can use animal products.
Wasn't it you zgrssd, who discovered that eggs count as meat at the thoughts and only milk would work ?
Or does they patched that allready and egg's don't count as meat anymore ?

Meat you can get pretty easy from hunting, while milk you need to buildup a ranch for the proper animals and grow haygras (unless you want them unprotected at some outdoor pen).

I did not discover it. And it was fixed. The first proper sentence of this post is from the patchnotes and the very reason I wrote this :)

Also that you can get meat from hunting is kinda useless for a Vegetarian Fine Meal.

Nutrient efficiency is way too important to ignore.
It costs a 50% premium to make the current pure vegetarian fine meal. You can not make the pure vegetarian meal from anything but plants, so you pay more with way less resource options.

So the sensible thing is to make Plants+Products Fine Meals first. Then defaulting to simple meals set to only use plants. And never touch the Vegetarian Fine meals, as the deal is just to damn bad.
The whole idea behind the Vegetarian and Carnivore meal was to make it easier to manage who eats what via food policies. But if your basic fine meals become your de-facto vegetarian fine meals, that idea just breaks.

A non-meat eating pawn will not get a negative thought for eating a 'normal' fine meal with eggs and veggies.  It is correct that mechanically fine meals require less materials to make.  In this instance it is more mechanically efficient to make a fine meal rather than a vegetarian fine meal. However to make a vegetarian meal entirely out of plants still will need the larger material amount.

This is as intended, and I see no bug other than its less efficient to make vegetarian meals mixed with animal products and veggies as compared to normal fine meals, which has no negative gameplay impact.
