Support / Re: Black screen? Or, game won't run?
« on: July 12, 2018, 02:23:15 PM »
this problem is after I downloaded some modes on workshop. Now what I need to did I did but It's not working. I deleted all saves all modes and the game but allready not work.

So it worked before, and it's broken now?  We can fix that.  :)
Please post your log file so we can help figure out what happened.  Unless you installed Steam to a different folder, your log file is probably here:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\RimWorld\RimWorldWin_Data\output_log.txt

Creative Rewards / Re: Creative Rewards Questions
« on: May 09, 2018, 06:29:12 PM »
All creative rewards submissions are reviewed before another release comes out.  I can't say when that will be, but development still continues, so it'll happen sometime.

Zargus, I can't really guess what gets accepted or not, but submit whatever you like best and hope for the best.  If it gets rejected again, there's a support email you can use for further assistance (but try submitting first and see).

Help / Re: [A18] XML Auto-Documentation
« on: May 09, 2018, 06:23:23 PM »
Hi quick question, because there is not in documentation:
What are values for <eType> ?
---Edit---
Nevermind it! But the XML Auto-Documentation A18 need a revision to add this:
List of <eType>:
Undefined, Pawn, Item, Chunk, Apparel, Equipment, Filth, Fire, Corpse, Puddle, DropPod, Medicine, Plant, Floor, Roof, Mote, Blueprint, Projectile, ItemSkyFalling, Ethereal, Rock, SteamGeyser, BuildingComplex, BuildingInert, Frame, Wall, Door, Bed, Building_Table, Building_PowerPlantGeothermal, Building_PowerConduit, Building_Battery, Building_ResearchBench, Building_Turret, Building_Chair, Building_Cryptosleepcasket, Building_TempController

I'm finally working on this again. IRL has been incredibly hectic lately, and still kind of is.  ;)  Anyway, what version of RimWorld are you running?  There's no <eType> currently in it, there hasn't been for a long time.

@pliniojrm, I'm back from my hiatus now. I'll look into that, thanks for the suggestion.

@ilikegoodfood, yes it's an automated tool that I made. It shouldn't be hard to point it at Core or even a specific mod, but that would only yield info about any mods I have installed. And I typically run less than half a dozen mods. I could release the tool, but it's Windows-only and I don't want to have to support it too, lol.

However, anyone who PM's me can get a copy of it for their own (unsupported) purposes.  ;)

Releases / Re: [B18] Signs and Memorials (v1.2.1)
« on: March 08, 2018, 07:09:18 PM »
Which version are you using? If you're playing on A17 then you should use the A17 version. If you don't have it, you can get all versions from the github release page:
https://github.com/MCManuelLP/RimWorld-Signs_and_Memorials/releases

I know it seems kinda nickpicky but it isnt A18 its B18 now.

Good catch, thanks. I'm about to leave town for US Thanksgiving, so I'll correct it after that if I don't forget. ;)

Updated to A18.  I haven't *touched* A18 yet, beyond downloading and running the Auto-Doc on it.  I'm still "on vacation" because IRL is insane in milon-land.  Please PM me if there's any weirdness or anything else I should be alerted to.

Enjoy!

Invest everything in the SlingShot water purifier!! *

* I know NOTHING about investments. Please don't take this seriously.

@mirrornexto, thanks for narrowing that down & for the reproducer steps!  I don't have a Mac, but I'm flagging this to other mods/admins and we'll see if anyone else can reproduce it.  Also, I haven't had time to see if the bug can be created on a Windows machine alone, so that would be good for someone to test.

Thanks for the update. This is a difficult one for sure.

About the test coming you recently created on the Mac that works on Windows - is it vanilla or does it include mods too?

General Discussion / Re: Weird File Locations
« on: July 31, 2017, 10:54:36 AM »
I would very much prefer that RimWorld saved it's Data locally in it's own Folder
instead of somewhere in My User Data...

There's an argument to be made in favor of using %AppData% to keep files & documents separate per user, but I'm old school and I agree with SpaceDorf - I prefer to keep my files in separate (globally accessible) drive & folder of my own choosing.  RimWorld isn't really reliable about that for now, but I'm hopeful that will improve.

Also, thanks nccvoyager!  I've added that to the Black Screen? sticky thread.

Good call, Calahan!

@mirrornexto, how are you transferring save files?  If you're relying on Steam sync, try a manual file transfer instead:
  • On the Mac, copy the .rws to a flash drive
  • Connect the flash drive to the Windows PC
  • Launch RimWorld on the Windows PC (important - this makes it play nice with Steam Sync)
  • Go into Options and click the button to open your save data location
  • Copy your .rws from the flash drive to the Windows PC RimWorld save folder
  • Go back to RimWorld and attempt to load the colony file

Let us know if that works!
