I've bought this game when it wasn't yet on Steam and I now want it on Steam without paying for it twice.

Is this possible and how?

Many thanks

Canute

No it isn't possible for people who can't read the mainpage of Rimworld.

Thank you TKCaesar.
Wasn't asking you Canute.

You posted a question without naming anyone in particular; you were asking everybody.  Don't complain about (non-flaming) responses to public comments on any forum, because it's not only completely ineffective, it makes you look like a silly prat.
Thanks, belgord!

No problem, Noel. Some people will help anyone some won't! Have fun surviving on your Rimworld.

Canute

Highly unlikely, although that's also up to the devs.  I haven't seen it work that way for any other program that has multiple routes to purchase.  Good luck, I guess...
Thanks, belgord!

If i really wanted the DMR free version i should have bought that instead of the steam version. I was just wondering if it went both ways but i guess you're right. Would be pretty hard to check if i actually owned the game on steam. I could link my profile but who's to say that's really my profile and not some other Semo. It was just a silly question. Or better yet..

I'd ask the devs; maybe they can work something out.
Thanks, belgord!

I'd say there is likely zero chance of that happening. I do not know if Tynan has commented somewhere more recently on this, but he ruled it out in July when replying to someone on his blog:-

Is there the possibility in the future to get the drm-free version on website if you bought on Steam?

wocabec – sorry, no.

Plus his blog post on October 5th suggested that this hasn't changed because the DRM-free version was listed as a perk/reward/incentive for those directly purchasing from Ludeon.

I figured as much. Thanks for the info.
