I rescued a guest because he was attacked by wild animals. I put him in bed and treat all his wounds, then he got an infection.

He would self-tend his infection with 0% quality bandage and there is nothing i can do to stop him, even if I command one of my pawn to prioritize tending the guest first but the guest would break that command by self-tending.

And the guest died.

Did he stay in his room or start to walk off the map? If he stayed in his room, could he path to the edge of the map or did you trap him there somehow?

The moment a guest gets up, he decides if he's going to join you or leave the map. If he joins, you control him. If he does not join, he does his own thing (including self tending) with a big priority on heading off the map.

I never got how pawns in the game could have such insanely bad reactions to such mundane things.
Then I came to the forums.

He never gets up even though he is no longer incapable of walking. He lays down and gets up to self-tend, then lay down again until he died.

1. What version do you play ?
2. Do you use mods, since at B19 i notice rescued pawn stay at the bed until they are full healed.

Nameless

1.0.

I have mods running, but like you said, they stay in bed until fully healed, looks like the rescued pawn thinks infection needs to be treated as well before they start moving but since they self tend with awful chance they will end up dying.

This is common in 1.0. After the changes where guest/enemy will always self-tend their injuries. It happened to me too few times already. Why is this a problem? you lose a potential +16 reputation just because they self-tend their infection. This also can happen on transport pod crash pawn that you saved.

Fixed, npcs will no longer self-tend if they're in any medical bed of a host faction.
Thanks for reporting! ;)
