Yeah, I had three ship parts crash in my last game, but I'm pretty sure the third was actually a disguised clown car, because it managed to squeeze out no less than 37 mechanoids...

Poor luck with the mechanoids, but that did bring to mind a favourite quote of mine,
"The clowns? Oh, yeah, the clowns... we fight them too. Entire armies, spilling out of Volkswagens."

I can sense a Clowncar/Mechanoidclowns retexture mod coming out
any moment now =P

(and that's a real flattering signature Coenmcj! *blush*)

Poor luck? No no, poor luck was the raid that came after that, which completely obliterated those mechanoids, and was still more than powerful enough to wipe out my colony... of 8 or 9 people.

Robot clowns? The colony would be divided between those who were too terrified to fight, and those who were laughing to hard to. Though I can't help but picture Arnold Schwarzenegger in terminator with half his face missing, wearing a multicoloured afro with a big red nose.

I like how this game can result in quotes that would be quite unnerving when said in public, out of context. - Myself

The dubious quotes list is now public. See it here

I'm Thinking so as well, but I can't bring myself to destroy it until I know for sure!

The situation as it stands now:

When are the people from Daughters Rock gonna realize my colony isn't exactly the best place to visit at this particular juncture Lol? (I think the Muffalo starved...Since I'm pretty sure the Mechanoids don't fire on them usually?)

I am in the 2-3 year of the game(game time) and I had that event like 4 times. I Waited for a faction to spawn there are kill them. Is  a low change that  you will hit the core if you have people whit 9-10 shooting on the mortars and they are force to shoot not that near the core. But the save path is to wait  for a siege on the same corner(most of the people will die and the mechanoid things will die(Scythers and Centerpieds). Is uncommon but is not that rare.Or you can wait for friendly factions to come.

My question for you is; Is this a one time event? Will I get another Core if I destroy this one? If so any idea how long it will take for this event to happen again randomly? Thanks in advance for all the help!
I had this event twice in my last game. When the first event happened I built blasting charges all around the crashed ship and detonated them when the mechs came out, destroying the core. I managed to capture the core with the second event though.

HatesYourFace

I wonder if there is a point to having two cores? Can you build two ships lol? They should be used for something else maybe...or possibly sold for a lot of silver. Maybe we could build robotic workers/soldiers out of metal and an A.I. core?

Psyckosama

How about a Command and Control AI for the colony that will reduce energy use by 20% and give turrets a massive accuracy boost?

bobucles

You can already massively reduce your base's energy use by checking out power switches.

Of course, the metal cost of installing those switches may exceed the cost of just building extra solar/batteries. Oh well.

No point really, unless you want to jack up the colony value. Having the AI core in your stockpile or homezone boosts your colony's value up by several thousands, which in turn affects raid sizes. I noticed its value when I started getting increasingly worried about my colony value and started investigating building and item values. So, out of curiosity, I took the stockpile away from the AI core, forbade it and removed a single homezone tile over it and colony value dropped by thousands. Go figure. I'm sure its exact value is in the game files somewhere.

Very interesting, I was unaware colony worth dictated raid size...does this mean if you keep your colony small you will only ever be subject to small raids? Or do they increase over time independently? In light of this info I think stockpiling a core early for use later might be more trouble then it's worth...Does stockpiling weapons/materials work the same? IE. Am I more likely to face a large raid group if I have large stockpiles of metal or silver or even pistols? Thanks for the tips man, I love learning little things like that about the Meta game.
