Can't wait for the upcoming "Muffalonado" events..  ;D

Looks pretty cool, will be downloading this. I'm from FL, so this is definitely my bag. Hurricanes can happen anytime from June 1 thru November 30th - however, according to the Hurricane Research Division of NOAA they can happen in any month (except April, apparently so far): http://www.aoml.noaa.gov/hrd/tcfaq/E17.html
Well, it happens in regions where hot and cold air meets. And that mostly happens down in the south. But it also happens sometimes longer up north. Where i'm from, it mostly doesn't happen, it simply is to cold.

And btw. "Muffalonado"?

Muffalonado - like a "Sharknado"*, but, obviously, featuring Muffalo.

just and idea BTW so don't hold be to it....

"volcano_storm".
like a heatwave and dry thunderstorm in one, only its not lightning striking, but fireballs (or re-textured mortars that fall randomly, IDC) that once explode cause small fires.

yes I know what I'm asking for is hard, but hey maybe the already in_game events can be altered and combined.

popster99

i think there should be a meteor storm and you can mine it to get stuff

Oh that reminds me of the mid-game for "Outpost 2" by Sierra. LOVED setting up base, and then the world goes crazy w/ lava flows and you have to escape while under attack - made for a challenging, but fun, endgame.

That is one terrifying thought.

Well, this one of of those i would wish i could make now. But sadly no. If i figure it out how then i'll maybe make it.

On the other hand i can say that, at the moment, i am working on something. If you look at some earlier comments then you'll most likely figure out what it is.

its fine im in no rush to see this done (if at all), i know just how hard modding is (otherwise i'd do it) and time consuming.
also do you mean the "muffanado"

Thanks for the understanding. I can feel a bit bad when i have to say no to someone. :-\

And yes, muffalonado. One terrifying thought for me, and all of my colonies.

regarding the firestorm suggestion a while back, the more comonly seen pattern of events leading up to firestorms are
1 long period of plant growth (so that there is lots of fuel for the fires
2 2 or more weeks of hot to very hot weather (daily minimums of 30 c, maximums of up to 50+ c) to dry out all the plants (with strong winds usually, but the fires also create strong winds)
3 lightning strikes OR firebugs (may they be cooked by their fires) to actually start the fires

and the only ends to firestorms are 1 no more fuel to burn,2 cold front with LOTS of rain, 3 cyclone with lots of rain,4 a change of prevailing wind direction blowing the fires back over the areas burnt by the fires, and also a possible end could be a cold snap with heavy snowfall

I can make the long lasting lightning strike one if you want, i just need to finish what i'm working on already.

in the outlined circumstances, the lightning does not need to be more than one small lightning storm, but the hot dry weather before is needed for the creation of firestorms

For that, it just need to be placed at high temperatures. So yeah, i could definently make it.

I'll add it to my list right away. :) (Btw, you got a suggestion for a name? If you do, you're more than wellcome to say it.)

the usual terms for the pattern is a heatwave  or firestorm, and some of the historical names include ash wensday, black friday
