Automated Trader Summoning?

I like the Mechanic which adds a cool down for requesting traders, the biggest downside in my opinion is that I forget to re-request for new traders because I get distracted by other events while waiting for the cool down.

I wish there was something which would automatically re-summon these traders for me. Lazy I know but eventually regularly summoning traders becomes a chore I think all Developed colonies take up and why not automate that which becomes a chore.

After a while once a colony has mined out all the steel and palasteel then traders are your only source and you get to summoning traders as much as possible, regardless of the fee, I know I will eventually start summoning general goods traders regularly just due to basic need for raw materials.

An event message popping up after the action is off cooldown could be added because why the hell not? I'm all for reducing unnecessary micromanagement.

Or you can set up a mining colony if your PC can handle it. Or you can download a mod that takes care of your lategame resource shortages.

In my opinion there are no vanilla friendly mods which address late game resource shortage.
There are fun mods which do this to be sure, but they are in no way vanilla Friendly.

Vanilla Friendly is a term that is certainly used, but to my knowledge has no Official definition but is a common sense leap from the term (Vanilla Version) which just means the original version program.

Actually, by your own definition, it does not.

There is already a Deep Drill in the game. It extracts materials from specific spots on the map. These are finite deposits but are extracted fast.

Deep Core Drills extract way slower, eat way more power and cost way more resources to build in exchange for not having the requirements to be placed over deposits. It's a fair deal, in fact, the Deep Core Drill has so high value it's a raider magnet all by itself.

It basically expands on a function that was initially believed to be infinite mining to begin with. It just so happens that Tynan decided that it should be based on finite deposits instead. That's why that mod was born, after all.

Considering how others define mods like EOPE as "Vanilla mods", I think it's safe to say that Deep Core Drill is indeed "Vanilla friendly".

In the vanilla game once you mined out a map of its resources then your only other options is trade, and yes other maps tiles, my concern is to get the most out of the trade options present in the vanilla version of the game.

Because spamming bulk goods traders for "unlimited steel, plasteel, stone, uranium, silver, jade and gold" is so much more different, right?

   

Let's stay on-topic, though. Completely automating trader calling would probably be more work than it's worth. As I've suggested, a message that tells the player the action is off cooldown would probably solve most of the problems.

...assuming it's a problem to spam traders every 6 days instead of every 4. What the hell are you using all that steel for, anyway?
