A Way To Know What Mod Is Causing Error Message(s)?

Hello Folks,

Sometimes the log simply states the mod that is causing the problem; other times, I get something like the attachment. As for the attachment: I have no idea which mod is causing the error. "Chemical def"?

What's strange is - my current mod list with this error is the same one I always use. Yet when I stuck in more mods, saw this and other errors, I took out those additional mods, yet I still get this error now. Ugh.

Thanks for any help.

Regards,

Marc

Hi,
you should take the word after ChemicalDef and do a search at the mods folder.
Windows explorer search even inside the files for that word, other OS got similar tools.
The result should point you at the mod.

And next time maybe use the green button "Share logs" that include the modlist. :-)

Thank you, as always, Canute!

I think that means to go here: E:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\RimWorld\Mods\Core\Defs Nope that's not it! Not sure where now to do that search, sorry...

I didn't take notice of the green button before, but here is the link: https://git.io/fhZRM

Core is the vanila gameplay, that place you didn't need to look.
I tried to search my Mods folder for "SGel" and didn't found an entry.
So when you do it at your Mods folder you should find the mod with that entry.

A good tool for finding things like that is for example dnGrep.
At least that is what I use for finding texts in my files :)

Btw: Moved to 'Mod bugs'

Folks,

Let me ask again: Where is the mod folder to look for mods?

I know I am in the wrong place, when I go to the attachment location.

I think for steam workshop mods you should look at
\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\294100
But since i don't use steam i can't say it for sure.
It should be full of folders, and they use the workshop id number als folder name.

Thank you, Canute.

This is the place where I will start any log error traces.
