This mod adds a number of weapons, as well as fire caste armor to your Rimworld experience. Previously in unfinished, I believe this mod has enough content to be considered in a 'release' state. At this point, I'm looking into adding new buildings / armor / traits / security. The weapons have been fairly represented, i.e. enough for a standard squad to operate well. Pulse rifle handles medium ranged engagements, carbines close, calivers as a support MG and ion rifles as your long range sniping operation. Also the kroot rifle for..krootness.

Currently included:

Weapons::

Pulse Rifle
Pulse Carbine
Ion Rifle
Kroot Rifle
Pulse Cavalier
Rail Rifle
Flamer

Armor::
Fire Caste Armor / Helmet
Farsight Enclave Armor
Pathfinder Armor

Buildings::
Tau Walls/Doors

Security::
Drone Turret

Research::

Earth Caste Technology (Turrets / Walls)
Fire Caste Technology (Pulse Weapons / Armor)
Farsight Technology (Advanced Farsight Weapons / Armor)

Traits::

Fire Caste Ancestry (+Shooting / Melee)
Water Caste Ancestry (+Social)

Factions::

Farsight Enclaves (May be hostile, may be friendly)
Tau Septs (More likely to be friendly)

Mechs[1st iteration]::

Currently only including the XV-8 Crisis Suit, and only incorporated in enemy raids. They are big, strong, and pack a wallop.

Looks cool, cant wait to try it

Tau have always been my favorite, so thank you much for this!

Looks pretty nice, however aren't the fire caste and in general the Tau very much... desert-orangey or beige-ish coloured? I think blue is more towards the water caste or earth caste, if I'm not mistaken (New to the lore of the 40k universe so correct me if I am wrong)

In fact there aren't any established colours for the fire caste armor. The only established colors are for the Sept markings - so the little bits on the sides of helmets or on shoulder pads that help identify what group they're with. Tau from any sept can use any colour scheme for their armor though, depending on the terrain or whatever.

For example, my painted army has a dull green armor with dark orange / brown clothing. The sept stays the same, but their agenda is to function in an arid shrubland, so their armor reflects it.

I have been playing with color options though. I'll probably look into adding a few variations to choose from.

If you only provide a steam workshop, you don't even need to post it at this forum.

Hi there, I'm the same person who you kindly offer to use any of your assets for a bigger WH40k mod in WIP section. So first thx again ;-)

The other modder with who I'm working on this one, Cpt. Ohu, have done lots of work in C#, and he had a bit of his work that is meant to handle faction color declination. The least we can do is to share this with you :-p. In fact Cpt. Ohu had previously released a framework for easing the add of humanoid races so i'm sure it will end up shared but I will keep you updated. As a bunch of us modders we are waiting for CCL to update

Don't be ridiculous. Many modders, including myself, are quite reasonably against using the steam workshop (and furthermore, Steam itself) altogether. People who have bought a license for the steam version of RimWorld can manually install mods from the forum like anyone else. But people who care about consumer/modder rights and have bought the DRM-free version cannot easily download from the Steam workshop.

So please do not suggest such a thing.

Manual link included. This may not be as frequently updated as Steam version, but yeah. :)

This will be updated possibly when I get home (as long as the hurricane hasn't wiped out power).

I have added the farsight enclaves as a faction, possibly hostile possibly friendly. Recolored armor, upgraded weapons for them.

orannj

Updated with farsight enclaves. I've tested and it seems that rarely, pawns are not spawning with some clothing, but most of the time they do. Will address in coming updates, but it's functional for now. Let me know if you see any glaring problems! :)

orannj

Updated. Pathfinder armor added, farsight enclaves fixed, rail rifle added. Enjoy!

kaptain_kavern

Oh you managed to fix it then. Nice ;)

orannj

Yup. Some issue with faction defs. :P Anywho, figured it out.

Playing with this as maybe a decoration for now, possibly usable if Tynan ever gets around to putting vehicles in. :P

It seems like Killface is closed to have working vehicles ;-)
